The Studio
Mauricio Cohen Architects is an architecture and design studio based in Mexico City. In projects large and small, our studio seeks to create worlds that bond people to place — composing spaces as sensory experiences that uplift the human spirit.
In each of our projects, we seek to find symbiosis with nature. We create living spaces that respond to site, climate, users, place and purpose. In doing so, each space becomes a work of art, rich in narrative and designed for meaningful interaction.
In our practice, we celebrate living intelligence, ever in search of the sublime.
The studio is led by its founder, Mauricio Cohen Kalb. A creative with a deep reverence for nature and all living beings, Mauricio’s work is informed by his ongoing research practice and inquiry into traditional ways of building and upholding the innate wisdom of indigenous knowledge systems.
At MCA, Mauricio cultivates a culture of genuine collaboration, working closely with a team of like-minded experts assembled from around the world. For each project, he oversees specialists who work together to achieve synthesis across different disciplines, from concept design to brand identity, graphic design, interiors, architecture, landscape, furniture and furnishings. In this way, each project is conceived by a creative community and is a true collaboration between client, architect and contractor.
